Why so serious all the time, even God should DANCE
An eye-opening incident that challenged my preconceived notions and concepts about God
We were reshuffling our furniture when it was time to move the decorative LED lights.
M, my partner, adorned a disco-themed LED light strip around the temple-cum-bookshelf.
I chuckled inside and put on a tough face outside. Then I (jokingly) admonished her, saying God will get angry. Instead, she should use candles or warm-white LED lights.
Her response made my tightly-held laughter spill out.
She said even God needs to dance sometimes, why so serious all the time!
She added that even Lord Shiva danced, so let the disco lights work their magic.
I replied that her nonchalance towards God could certainly make Lord Shiva perform 'Rudra Tandava' - the dance of destruction!
She chuckled saying, “God also wants to dance and lighten up.”
I seriously asked her if she gets afraid or thinks twice before speaking her heart out.
She tossed her head in denial in her signature style.
Whenever I’m in a dilemma
Regarding what is right or wrong about God, I imagine how a normal, innocent child would approach it.
My logic is even if God is some creature or energy that sometimes gets 'angry', it won't punish innocent kids. It simply cannot.
So when I hear M say unconventional things about God, like a child would, my 'concepts' about God get challenged everytime.
She’s not afraid of God at all!
I consider God a friend first and then some other phenomenon. But even I’d hesitate to say things she does.
Gamble paid off
That's exactly what I meant when I said when it's worth getting married.
M is helping me peel off the layers of conditioning.
I don't need or expect anything else from a soulmate.
Gratitude!
I wish the same for you. May you find someone who opens your eyes and wakes you up.
